Breathing techniques

Hi everybody

If you ever want to calm yourself down, you could try the following breathing technique...

Find somewhere comfortable to sit or lie where you won't be interrupted.

Start to count as you breathe in and out. You can use your heartbeat as a guide for the speed of your counting.

Slow your breathing down so that each inhalation lasts for a count of 5 and each exhalation lasts for a count of 8.

After about a minute of this, slow it down further so that each inhalation lasts for a count of 7 and each exhalation lasts for a count of 11.
